Syria's interim Defence Ministry has said that its forces are continuing operations against remnants of the ousted Bashar al-Assad government and drug traffickers along the Syrian-Lebanese border.
The risk is that the anti-Israel “axis of resistance” from Iran could be replaced by a new pro-Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood alliance led by Turkey’s president.
In the first major Israeli-Arab war in 1948, many Palestinians were driven from their homes and sought shelter in Gaza. The descendants of those refugees make up most of Gaza's population today.
