Let cool. In a bowl, mix the oil, vinegar, soy sauce and sugar. Add the cabbage, scallions and cilantro and toss. Add the almonds and season with pepper. Toss again and serve.

That's why I've made a lighter soup with napa cabbage instead of a classic cabbage soup. It's hard to say that napa cabbage is an unpopular vegetable. We use it often, but primarily for coleslaw.
