Jerry was born May 2, 1963 in Sterling to Andrew Richard and Regina Verlee Amen Kaus. He graduated from Sterling High School. On June 20, 1983 he married Amy Bernice Taylor in Sterling.

Feb. 28—ROCHESTER — This month, the Minnesota Music Educators Association named Century High School director of bands Amanda Kaus as one of two High School Music Educators of the Year.
