There is construction equipment in the area and you will have to be careful to stay out of the way if they are working in the area. I was there on a weekend and no one was about. Given the recent snow storm you may not want to hike there for a few days. We have more than a foot of new snow here in the Denver area today.

We went on a Sunday so even though they were working on the path, they take Sundays off and the area was safe with no one working. My advice for finding it: Drive from Canon City …
We went on a Sunday so even though they were working on the path, they take Sundays off and the area was safe with no one working. My advice for finding it: Drive from Canon City PAST the prison museum/prison and take a left. There is one sign to go right through a residential neighborhood to a fork in the road. The right fork climbs up the hill, so take the left fork. No idea where you are supposed to park so we just parked among the construction vehicles. Hope this helps.
