As I was there in September I can only speculate that it would be very wintery and quite possibly frozen but the path is a well-maintained one with gripper matting on the main path. The little tracks accessing the falls could be challenging and I would advise well-cleated boots and walking poles to aid your balance.
hi everyone! i read about a shorter 1.4km hike to Svartifoss Waterfall, which requires us to park a distance away from the visitor centre. Is that hiking trail still open? We are going in late June. Thanks!

The hike is not very long (2 km, around 40 minutes, up to 1 h). It is not very challenging and the main footpath is wide well maintained. The waterfall is definitely worth it!
