Agreed! The only cost is the trip there. It's about 45-50minutes from Auckland city centre if the traffic is light. Oh, a bit off topic, but helpful to know... The toilets at the gannet viewing parking area were out of action when we went. There are other toilets at the main beach parking, but good luck finding a park there - it's a popular beach.
HI, is it possible to drive the car and park it near the hill top, because we have a disable.

From Murwai beach side there is a steep stairs. But from the other side of the colony there is a paved path, which while steep I think would be wheelchair accessible.
