Hi, sorry I don't know if your son can follow you around (i.e. in his own go-kart) under supervision. Every driver in our group was asked to present a passport, and an equivalent international driver's license. Also, there is no regular car organized by the company that follows the group around. The guides supervises the group in their own go karts - one in front, one at the back.

As for the day of the week I can't really comment, your guide (If you get one) will choose the best route according to traffic conditions.
