How does this compare to Lava beds in California? Trying to determine how much time to allocate. How deep are the lava tube caves - how many are there to hike?

I can't answer the comparison question because I've never been to the California lava beds but the caves aren't that deep. If i recall there's only one you can go into

Do not stay in Arco! Food and hotels there are terrible. Cheap but filthy and inadequate lodging, food OK but barely. Stay in nearest larger town and plan on going as a day trip. Worth …
